In these new twists on traditional Jewish folktales and midrashim, award-winning storyteller Cindy Rivka Marshall tells stories that speak from women’s hearts and minds.
In an exciting creative collaboration with Libana's Artistic Director, Susan Robbins, these magical, inspiring, and entertaining stories create strong role models for girls and women of all backgrounds.
Susan Robbins accompanies the stories with sensitive improvisations on the hammered dulcimer, psaltery, oud, accordion and percussion that enhance the mood of each tale being told, and create musical atmospheres in which to experience the story.
Cindy Rivka Marshall's critically acclaimed first recording, Challah and Latkes: Stories for Shabbat and Hanukkah, won a Storytelling World Honor Award and a National Parenting Publications Award. The folktales and original stories she tells hold universal lessons, and her performances resonate with a sense of wonder and respect for all. Her entertaining programs stimulate an appreciation of the diverse cultures that have given us a rich legacy of fables and folktales.
